Character's Name: Oda Rurikid (Ода Рюрикид)

Noble Household + House Backstory:

The House of Rurikid is a noble house with roots stretching to the year 862 and its founder Rurik I. It originated from modern day Scandinavia, specifically Finland and Sweden, when they originally came, however, they came as mercenaries working for the countless pety Princes that dotted the slavic Russian heartland. Having come for the same purpose that many Norsemen like him came for, Rurik was out to make some money and glory for himself, in his opinion the best way to do so was to venture East, instead of South like many Norsemen of his time did on their way to plunder England and France. This was because Rurik believed that venturing East into Russia, a land many Norsemen were familiar with and had trade ties to, would get him closer to the golden city of Constantinople and its historic Romans. In Rurik's path, however, were the pesty Slavs, a people Rurik found to be beneath hismelf due to their lacking combat prowess and pety conflicts that he would often find himself embroiled in and having to deal with. Deciding his best course of action was to raid the Russian heartland and subjugate its people, Rurik did so, leaving a trail of blood and death behind him any where he went. When he finally got to the Slavic city of Novgorod, Rurik was mesmerised with its beauty and decided to capture the city without damaging it, when he finally did so, he appointed himself Rurik the First prince of Novgorod. After his death, his descendants would begin a prepetual state of war on the rest of the Slavic city states by going on wars of conquest, making their realms larger each year. By the time of Ivan, otherwise known as, "Ivan the Terrible" the Rurik dynasty had reached its greatest zeaneth, unfortunately for it and its 'Russian' kingdom, Ivan lived up to his title, waging a complete terror war on his own people. This completely weakened the legitamacy of the Rurikids and in a matter of decades they would be replaced by the Romanov Family, another noble family. Unlike what many people would think, however, the Romanovs did not eradicate the Rurikid household, but continued to give them titles and lavish gifts such as Dukes and Princes of different Russian Cities.... They remained within this state until the 20th Century.

Character Backstory:
Oda Rurikid was born on the 25th of February 1890 within the city of Smolensk, having been born to one of the most ancient and powerful Royal families within Europe, Oda had all the expected pleasures that would come with wealth and power growing up, however, his father was extremely harsh on him due to Oda being his oldest Male son often refusing to let Oda out of the family estate in order to walk around the city with his friends, or to even see his other siblings, instead his father dedicated all of his son's time towards his education, moral upbringing, and militaristic style exercises.

As he grew up, Oda began to resent his father, however, he had an odd respect for him due to his persistence and moral strength. When Oda turned 18 his father sent him to the Imperial Naval Academy and after a long time of academic development in Naval warfare and tactics was commissioned as a Junior Lieutenant in his Majesty's Navy. It was during his time at the Naval Academy in Moscow that he began to learn and observe the clear class difference within Russian life and development of new radical and violent groups os peasantry, and at time, reactionary counter-movements by the wealthy. These two extremes took an effect on oda that he began to translate into disgust, with his father's lessons Oda saw the new Anti-Tsarists movements with contempt and fear as they clearly were threatening HIM specifically as a member of the social elite.

Following his comissioning Oda steadily began to rise the ranks of the military, no thanks to his titles and family name, as well as some money in the right pockets. He eventually reached the rank of Dreadnaught Captain aboard the Imperator Alenksander III (Император Александр Третий). He was deployed to the Black Sea in order to help enforce a blockade on Ottoman shipping within the Sea and to ensure that the Crimean penninsula remained safe and secure; it is on this posting, however, that Oda would begin to gain an interest in Ottoman affairs, at points even respecting their resiliance. Soon after this change in perspective, however, World War 1 would begin, which would spell doom for the Russian Empire.

From the years of 1914 to 1917 Oda was deployed to countless battlefields in order to escort Russian and British supplies across the Northern Sea, Black Sea, and at times the Pacific Sea. While his combat experience was nothing too glamorous, it was just enough to gain him recognition within the decaying Imperial court, this recognition would lead to Oda heading back to Moscow to serve on the Navy Cabinet in different ways, however, his time in Moscow would see the rise of another enemy.... The Bolshevik enemy.

During the year sof 1917, much of the disgruntled workers of Russia began to rise up and declare revolutions, this resulted in the demotion of Tsar Nicholas to a figurehead position followingt he February Revolution, and then a completely normal person by October 1917. These revolutinary parties did not eye Oda in a good manner and soon began to purge "Anti-revolutinaries" one of them being Oda. Hearing of this, Oda decided to head to Crimea, where a bastion of ex-army officers, ex-navy officers, and Anti-Bolsheviks began to congregate. There, they would form the first White Volunteer Army to combat the Red menace and Oda would be transferred as "Deputy of the Chief of All Naval Forces in the Crimeas" where he would see plenty of action on the Southern front, he would at some points even aide in the shelling of certain communist occupied ports and towns. His efforts were extraordianry, however, it was not lost on him how hopeless the situation of the White Army was. The Communists had completely overtaken many of the important population and resource centers with many of the foreign powers that backed the White Army beginning to fall back in order to secure good relations with the Soviet government. Deciding that all hope was lost, Oda began to load all the Naval ships he could muster with wounded soldiers, escaping civilians, and Naval / Army officers who would go to later form a Russian government in exile.

Once all the boats were filled, Oda set sail to Istanbul, otherwise known as Constantinople which was suffering its own set of issues. His family connections in Istanbul, however meant that he was able to safely cross the Daedenael straits into the Meditteranian Sea, where he would wander for 3 days with boats packed with Russian refugees. Eventually, some European countries volunteered to take in the Refugees, those being Germany (which only promised safe passage to poland), France, and Britain. Oda decided to dock his last ship in a French port, where-after he dismissed all of his crew, attempting to give them whatever money had left to his name in order to ensure they have some food for the night at least. Another officer of his, as well as politician, informed Oda that a Russian government in exile had formed in Berlin and that they needed someone with enough legitmacy to offer to the group.....
